Dirai Upazila in Sunamganj District is at risk due to climate change.Twelve Climate and Livelihood Development Cooperative Societies Ltd. were registered with the aim of poverty alleviation and environmentally friendly livelihoods for 2,000 (two thousand) poor women beneficiaries of the LOGIC project run by the Local Government Department funded by UNDP. The efforts of the Upazila Cooperative Officer, Dirai, Sunamganj are continuing to develop the newly registered associations as ‍sustainable cooperatives. As part of this, it is important to give an idea about the importance of members' opinions and the power of the general meeting in the management and operation of the cooperative society. Doing so, Mr. Hironmoy Roy, Upazila Cooperative Officer, Dirai, Sunamganj, was present at the annual general meeting of Sarmangal Union Ward 5 Climate and Livelihood Development Cooperative Society Ltd. held in Jarlia, a remote village in the Dirai Haor region.
